The CIA's "Timber Sycamore" Program for the Destabilization of Syria and the Overthrow of Assad! Started by the USA, Ended by Russia... for Israel!! The Role of Turkey...
Understanding the full extent of the conflict (a fake conflict) that began in Syria in 2011 by several Western powers, particularly the USA and the United Kingdom, is not feasible for everyone, although there are many enlightened fools out there who believe they know more about Middle Eastern geopolitics than anyone else. One of those who has handled high-level information was the prominent economist Jeffrey Sachs, Jewish by origin but a fervent defender of Palestinian rights.
At the Antalya conference (Turkey) this year, Jeffrey Sachs revealed the fundamental role played by the United States in exacerbating the Syrian crisis. Sachs emphasized something that most people do not know and that many, some out of ignorance and others through clever manipulation, have never pointed out: it was the little-known CIA program called "Timber Sycamore" for the destabilization of the only Middle Eastern country that still resisted imperialism, namely Syria.
Sachs stated: "We all know, from the time of Obama and Hillary Clinton, until Trump announced it later, that they (Obama and Clinton) created ISIS and Al-Nusra, while the Gulf countries funded the operation." The goal, says Sachs, "was never the fight for democracy or human rights, but rather the service of regional and international interests, and above all, those of Israel."
The USA started the civil war in Syria and Russia ended it by overthrowing Bashar al-Assad. The Western "left" (the term itself is a self-contradiction in essence in the West; objectively, there can be no left), on its part, was complicit in all the crimes committed by the terrorists and their funders, supporting the big lie that they were "rebels." This "left" falsely pointed to Assad as responsible for the use of "chemical weapons" against the civilian population or that the White Helmets were beautiful "humanitarian" idealists (in reality, they were Al-Qaeda terrorists) and that, moreover, the triumph of the Islamists in December 2024 was necessary to end a "despotic regime."
When the so-called "Arab Spring"—which was praised, let's not forget, by the entire global Western-oriented "left"—was at its peak in Syria, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) presented plans to the congressional intelligence committees in early 2012 to support the "Syrian rebels" in their effort to overthrow President Bashar al-Assad. Around the same time, US Ambassador Robert Ford closed the American embassy in Damascus and the diplomatic mission was transferred to the US embassies in Amman and Ankara. (Note: the entire Western curtain did the same)
During 2012, there was no popular support for direct US military intervention in Syria, as a prolonged uprising was seen as a more realistic option for overthrowing Assad. In this context, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and CIA Director David Petraeus pushed for the issuance of a presidential decree to help support this terrorist uprising during their talks with President Obama.
While these discussions were ongoing, the CIA had already begun providing covert support to terrorists, including the supply of weapons, concealing the US role through collaboration with Saudi Arabia, Turkey (a NATO country), and Qatar. The "Timber Sycamore" program began in 2013, when the "Free Syrian Army" and other terrorist factions received support from the CIA and the US Special Operations Command.
Through this program, the USA monitored foreign support to the terrorists. This was followed by shipments of small arms, ammunition, and anti-tank missiles (TOW). The weapons were purchased in Eastern Europe and the Balkans and then sent to Syria via Saudi Arabia, passing through Jordan and Turkey.
The CIA had two main centers for the "Timber Sycamore" operations in Turkey and Jordan, in which countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, France, and Great Britain participated. The support networks included bases and camps throughout Syria and the Gulf countries. The terrorists of the "Northern Front" were trained in Gaziantep and Antioch (both in Turkey), while the "Southern Front" organized its operations in Jordan and focused on areas such as Al-Tanf, Daraa, Sweida, and the outskirts of Damascus.
In 2014, the Jordan center trained about 600 terrorists per month. The terrorist leaders requested weapons and training, and the CIA forwarded these requests to the US government and its partners, while Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates provided the funding and weapons.
Saudi Arabia and the United States bought the weapons in Europe, while Turkey and Jordan facilitated their delivery to Syria. End-user certificates were signed stating that the weapons were intended exclusively for the US military, in order to conceal the real beneficiaries from the European suppliers, despite violating the non-reexport terms. The weapons arrived by air in Saudi Arabia and were then transferred to CIA centers in Turkey and Jordan.
Between 2014 and 2016, the United States trained thousands of terrorists under the Timber Sycamore program and equipped at least 10,000 of them. More than 60,000 terrorists from at least 42 factions joined the program. In May 2017, between 30,000 and 35,000 Islamist terrorists were supported by the CIA in the battles for Idlib, while another 30,000 fought in the south, half of them within the Salafist militia "Army of Islam" Jaysh al-Islam.
The funding for Timber Sycamore amounted to $1 billion annually from Congress, representing about 7% of the CIA's budget in 2014 and 2015, making it one of the largest expenditures in the history of US covert operations. However, this was not enough without the financial contribution of Saudi Arabia. Each terrorist cost about $100,000 per year.
The program ended on October 9, 2015, after the publication of oversight reports revealing failure to meet goals and oversight requirements. The Special Forces then resumed their collaboration with the CIA to support terrorist factions in Syria under Operation Timber Sycamore, but with new responsibilities. Scandals and failures accelerated the end of "Timber Sycamore."
Russia officially entered the Syrian scene in 2015, limiting most US activities in the country. In 2016, and this is important to note, the United States and Russia created a coordination team to prevent conflicts between opposing forces supported by each side. Negative reports about the trained fighters began to appear. In one case, terrorists linked to Timber Sycamore executed prisoners and, although the program was exempt from human rights violation reporting requirements, the incidents reached the media.
Although the program seemed to be failing for many years, the events of December 2024, with the fall of Bashar al-Assad, completely changed the landscape. The Turkey-supported Syrian opposition factions, originally formed from the remnants of the northern front of the program, took control of the Syrian government. But the factions that overthrew Assad were actually the most extremist Salafist jihadist currents, which had already allied with Al-Qaeda and the Islamic State at different stages. Their leader was Ahmad al-Sharaa, known as Abu Muhammad al-Julani.
Al-Julani created Jabhat al-Nusra on the orders of ISIS, but "broke away" from ISIS in 2016, changing the name of the terrorist organization to Fatah al-Sham Front and later to Sham Liberation Authority (Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham). All of these were superficial operations designed within the headquarters of the CIA and British MI6, with the aim of "softening" his image from a "radical" terrorist to a "moderate" fighter.
A few days after al-Julani took control of Damascus, American delegations met with him and the $10 million reward that had been offered for his head seven years earlier was withdrawn. In reality, this reward was a cleverly calculated scam orchestrated by the CIA and the British to make it appear that the USA was fighting terrorism, while in fact they had been supporting it for 14 years.
“Locked in their homes” — Anxiety for the Ellines who live in the country: “All my relatives and the other Ellines are locked in their homes. They do not communicate with anyone, not even among themselves,” says a Ellines‐Syrian living in Aleppo.
And for the more demanding:

Η κατανόηση της πλήρους έκτασης της σύγκρουσης (μιας ψεύτικης σύγκρουσης) που ξεκίνησε στη Συρία το 2011 από αρκετές δυτικές δυνάμεις,ιδίως τις ΗΠΑ και το Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο, δεν είναι εφικτή για όλους, αν και υπάρχουν πολλοί φωτισμένοι ανόητοι εκεί έξω που πιστεύουν ότι γνωρίζουν περισσότερα για τη γεωπολιτική της Μέσης Ανατολής από οποιονδήποτε άλλον. Ένας από αυτούς που έχει χειριστεί πληροφορίες υψηλού επιπέδου ήταν ο εξέχων οικονομολόγος Τζέφρι Σακς/Jeffrey Sachs, Εβραίος στην καταγωγή αλλά ένθερμος υπερασπιστής των παλαιστινιακών δικαιωμάτων.
Στο συνέδριο της Αττάλειας (Τουρκία) φέτος, ο Τζέφρι Σακς αποκάλυψε τον θεμελιώδη ρόλο που διαδραμάτισαν οι Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες στην επιδείνωση της συριακής κρίσης. Ο Σακς τόνισε κάτι που οι περισσότεροι άνθρωποι δεν γνωρίζουν και που πολλοί, κάποιοι από άγνοια και άλλοι μέσω έξυπνης χειραγώγησης, δεν έχουν ποτέ επισημάνει: ήταν το ελάχιστα γνωστό πρόγραμμα της CIA που ονομάζεται “Timber Sycamore” για την αποσταθεροποίηση της μόνης χώρας της Μέσης Ανατολής που εξακολουθούσε να αντιστέκεται στον ιμπεριαλισμό, δηλαδή της Συρίας.
Ο Σακς δήλωσε: “Όλοι γνωρίζουμε, από την εποχή του Ομπάμα και της Χίλαρι Κλίντον, μέχρι που το ανακοίνωσε αργότερα ο Τραμπ, ότι αυτοί (ο Ομπάμα και η Κλίντον) δημιούργησαν το ISIS και την Al-Nusra, ενώ οι χώρες του Κόλπου χρηματοδότησαν την επιχείρηση.” Ο στόχος, λέει ο Σακς, «δεν ήταν ποτέ ο αγώνας για τη δημοκρατία ή τα ανθρώπινα δικαιώματα, αλλά μάλλον η εξυπηρέτηση περιφερειακών και διεθνών συμφερόντων, και πάνω απ’ όλα, αυτών του Ισραήλ».
Οι ΗΠΑ ξεκίνησαν τον εμφύλιο πόλεμο στη Συρία και η Ρωσία τον τερμάτισε ανατρέποντας τον Μπασάρ αλ-Άσαντ. Η δυτική ”αριστερά” (ο όρος από μόνος του είναι μια αυτο-αντίφαση στην ουσία στη Δύση εξ αντικειμένου δεν μπορεί να υπάρξει αριστερά), από την πλευρά της, ήταν συνένοχη σε όλα τα εγκλήματα που διέπραξαν οι τρομοκράτες και οι χρηματοδότες τους, υποστηρίζοντας το μεγάλο ψέμα ότι ήταν «αντάρτες».Αυτή η «αριστερά» υποδείκνυε ψευδώς τον Άσαντ ως υπεύθυνο για τη χρήση «χημικών όπλων» εναντίον του άμαχου πληθυσμού ή ότι τα Λευκά Κράνη ήταν όμορφοι «ανθρωπιστές» ιδεαλιστές (στην πραγματικότητα, ήταν τρομοκράτες της Αλ Κάιντα) και ότι, επιπλέον, ο θρίαμβος των ισλαμιστών τον Δεκέμβριο του 2024 ήταν απαραίτητος για να τερματιστεί ένα «δεσποτικό καθεστώς».
Όταν η λεγόμενη «Αραβική Άνοιξη» —που επαινέθηκε, ας μην ξεχνάμε, από όλη την παγκόσμια δυτικοφρονούσα ”αριστερά”— βρισκόταν στο αποκορύφωμά της στη Συρία, η Κεντρική Υπηρεσία Πληροφοριών (CIA) παρουσίασε σχέδια στις επιτροπές πληροφοριών του Κογκρέσου στις αρχές του 2012 για να υποστηρίξει τους «Σύρους αντάρτες» στην προσπάθειά τους να ανατρέψουν τον Πρόεδρο Μπασάρ αλ-Άσαντ. Περίπου την ίδια εποχή, ο Πρέσβης των ΗΠΑ Ρόμπερτ Φορντ έκλεισε την αμερικανική πρεσβεία στη Δαμασκό και η διπλωματική αποστολή μεταφέρθηκε στις αμερικανικές πρεσβείες στο Αμμάν και την Άγκυρα. ( σσ το ίδιο έκανε κι όλο το δυτικό παραπέτασμα)
Κατά τη διάρκεια του 2012, δεν υπήρξε λαϊκή υποστήριξη για άμεση στρατιωτική επέμβαση των ΗΠΑ στη Συρία, καθώς μια παρατεταμένη εξέγερση θεωρήθηκε ως μια πιο ρεαλιστική επιλογή για την ανατροπή του Άσαντ. Σε αυτό το πλαίσιο, η Υπουργός Εξωτερικών Χίλαρι Κλίντον και ο Διευθυντής της CIA Ντέιβιντ Πετρέους πίεσαν για την έκδοση προεδρικού ψηφίσματος για να βοηθήσουν στην υποστήριξη αυτής της τρομοκρατικής εξέγερσης κατά τη διάρκεια των συνομιλιών τους με τον Πρόεδρο Ομπάμα.
Ενώ διεξάγονταν αυτές οι συζητήσεις, η CIA είχε ήδη αρχίσει να παρέχει μυστική υποστήριξη σε τρομοκράτες, συμπεριλαμβανομένης της προμήθειας όπλων, αποκρύπτοντας τον ρόλο των ΗΠΑ μέσω συνεργασίας με τη Σαουδική Αραβία, την Τουρκία (χώρα του ΝΑΤΟ) και το Κατάρ. Το πρόγραμμα “Timber Sycamore” ξεκίνησε το 2013, όταν ο “Ελεύθερος Συριακός Στρατός” και άλλες τρομοκρατικές παρατάξεις έλαβαν υποστήριξη από τη CIA και τη Διοίκηση Ειδικών Επιχειρήσεων των ΗΠΑ.
Μέσω αυτού του προγράμματος, οι ΗΠΑ παρακολουθούσαν την ξένη υποστήριξη προς τους τρομοκράτες. Ακολούθησαν αποστολές μικρών όπλων, πυρομαχικών και αντιαρματικών πυραύλων (TOW). Τα όπλα αγοράστηκαν στην Ανατολική Ευρώπη και τα Βαλκάνια και στη συνέχεια στάλθηκαν στη Συρία μέσω Σαουδικής Αραβίας, περνώντας από την Ιορδανία και την Τουρκία.
Η CIA είχε δύο κύρια κέντρα για τις επιχειρήσεις “Timber Sycamore” στην Τουρκία και την Ιορδανία, στις οποίες συμμετείχαν χώρες όπως η Σαουδική Αραβία, το Κατάρ, η Γαλλία και η Μεγάλη Βρετανία. Τα δίκτυα υποστήριξης περιελάμβαναν βάσεις και στρατόπεδα σε όλη τη Συρία και τις χώρες του Κόλπου. Οι τρομοκράτες του «Βόρειου Μετώπου» εκπαιδεύτηκαν στο Γκαζιαντέπ και την Αντιόχεια (και οι δύο στην Τουρκία), ενώ το «Νότιο Μέτωπο» οργάνωσε τις επιχειρήσεις του στην Ιορδανία και επικεντρώθηκε σε περιοχές όπως το Αλ-Τανφ, η Νταράα, η Σουγουάιντα και τα περίχωρα της Δαμασκού.
Το 2014, το κέντρο της Ιορδανίας εκπαίδευε περίπου 600 τρομοκράτες ανά μήνα. Οι ηγέτες των τρομοκρατών ζήτησαν όπλα και εκπαίδευση, και η CIA διαβίβασε αυτά τα αιτήματα στην κυβέρνηση των ΗΠΑ και τους εταίρους της, ενώ η Σαουδική Αραβία και τα Ηνωμένα Αραβικά Εμιράτα παρείχαν τη χρηματοδότηση και τα όπλα.
Η Σαουδική Αραβία και οι Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες αγόρασαν τα όπλα στην Ευρώπη, ενώ η Τουρκία και η Ιορδανία διευκόλυναν την παράδοσή τους στη Συρία. Υπογράφηκαν πιστοποιητικά τελικής χρήσης που δήλωναν ότι τα όπλα προορίζονταν αποκλειστικά για τον αμερικανικό στρατό, προκειμένου να αποκρυφθούν οι πραγματικοί δικαιούχοι των Ευρωπαίων προμηθευτών, παρά την παραβίαση των όρων μη επανεξαγωγής. Τα όπλα έφτασαν αεροπορικώς στη Σαουδική Αραβία και στη συνέχεια μεταφέρθηκαν σε κέντρα της CIA στην Τουρκία και την Ιορδανία.
Μεταξύ 2014 και 2016, οι Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες εκπαίδευσαν χιλιάδες τρομοκράτες στο πλαίσιο του προγράμματος Timber Sycamore και εξόπλισαν τουλάχιστον 10.000 από αυτούς. Περισσότεροι από 60.000 τρομοκράτες από τουλάχιστον 42 παρατάξεις εντάχθηκαν στο πρόγραμμα. Τον Μάιο του 2017, μεταξύ 30.000 και 35.000 ισλαμιστές τρομοκράτες υποστηρίχθηκαν από τη CIA στις μάχες για το Ιντλίμπ, ενώ άλλοι 30.000 πολέμησαν στο νότο, οι μισοί από αυτούς εντός της σαλαφιστικής πολιτοφυλακής «Στρατός του Ισλάμ» Jaysh al Islam.
Η χρηματοδότηση του Timber Sycamore ανήλθε σε 1 δισεκατομμύριο δολάρια ετησίως από το Κογκρέσο, που αντιπροσωπεύει περίπου το 7% του προϋπολογισμού της CIA το 2014 και το 2015, καθιστώντας την μία από τις μεγαλύτερες δαπάνες στην ιστορία των μυστικών επιχειρήσεων των ΗΠΑ. Ωστόσο, αυτό δεν ήταν αρκετό χωρίς τη οικονομική συνεισφορά της Σαουδικής Αραβίας.Κάθε τρομοκράτης κόστιζε περίπου 100.000 δολάρια ετησίως.
Το πρόγραμμα έληξε στις 9 Οκτωβρίου 2015, μετά την δημοσίευση εκθέσεων εποπτείας που αποκάλυπταν αδυναμία εκπλήρωσης των στόχων και των απαιτήσεων εποπτείας. Οι Ειδικές Δυνάμεις στη συνέχεια επανέλαβαν τη συνεργασία τους με τη CIA για την υποστήριξη τρομοκρατικών παρατάξεων στη Συρία στο πλαίσιο της Επιχείρησης Timber Sycamore, αλλά με νέες αρμοδιότητες. Σκάνδαλα και αποτυχίες επιτάχυναν το τέλος του “Timber Sycamore”.
Η Ρωσία εισήλθε επίσημα στη συριακή σκηνή το 2015, περιορίζοντας τις περισσότερες δραστηριότητες των ΗΠΑ στη χώρα. Το 2016, και αυτό είναι σημαντικό να σημειωθεί, οι Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες και η Ρωσία δημιούργησαν μια ομάδα συντονισμού για την αποτροπή συγκρούσεων μεταξύ αντίπαλων δυνάμεων που υποστηρίζονταν από κάθε πλευρά. Άρχισαν να εμφανίζονται αρνητικές αναφορές σχετικά με τους εκπαιδευμένους μαχητές. Σε μια περίπτωση, τρομοκράτες που συνδέονται με την Timber Sycamore εκτέλεσαν κρατούμενους και, παρόλο που το πρόγραμμα εξαιρούνταν από τις απαιτήσεις αναφοράς παραβιάσεων ανθρωπίνων δικαιωμάτων, τα περιστατικά έφτασαν στα μέσα ενημέρωσης.
Αν και το πρόγραμμα φαινόταν να αποτυγχάνει για πολλά χρόνια, τα γεγονότα του Δεκεμβρίου 2024, με την πτώση του Μπασάρ αλ-Άσαντ, άλλαξαν εντελώς το τοπίο. Οι υποστηριζόμενες από την Τουρκία συριακές αντιπολιτευόμενες παρατάξεις, που αρχικά σχηματίστηκαν από τα απομεινάρια του βόρειου μετώπου του προγράμματος, ανέλαβαν τον έλεγχο της συριακής κυβέρνησης. Αλλά οι παρατάξεις που ανέτρεψαν τον Άσαντ ήταν στην πραγματικότητα τα πιο εξτρεμιστικά σαλαφιστικά τζιχαντιστικά ρεύματα, τα οποία είχαν ήδη συμμαχήσει με την Αλ Κάιντα και το Ισλαμικό Κράτος σε διαφορετικά στάδια. Επικεφαλής τους ήταν ο Άχμαντ αλ-Σαράα, γνωστός ως Αμπού Μουχάμαντ αλ-Τζουλάνι.
Ο αλ-Τζουλάνι δημιούργησε την Τζαμπχάτ αλ-Νούσρα κατόπιν εντολής του ISIS, αλλά «αποσχίστηκε» από το ISIS το 2016, αλλάζοντας το όνομα της τρομοκρατικής οργάνωσης σε Μέτωπο Φατάχ αλ-Σαμ και αργότερα σε Αρχή Απελευθέρωσης Σαμ (Χαγιάτ Ταχρίρ αλ-Σαμ).Όλες αυτές ήταν επιφανειακές επιχειρήσεις που σχεδιάστηκαν εντός της έδρας της CIA και της βρετανικής MI6, με σκοπό να «μαλακώσουν» την εικόνα του από «ριζοσπαστικό» τρομοκράτη σε «μετριοπαθή» μαχητή.
Λίγες μέρες αφότου ο αλ-Τζουλάνι ανέλαβε τον έλεγχο της Δαμασκού, αμερικανικές αντιπροσωπείες συναντήθηκαν μαζί του και η αμοιβή των 10 εκατομμυρίων δολαρίων που είχε προσφερθεί για το κεφάλι του επτά χρόνια νωρίτερα αποσύρθηκε. Στην πραγματικότητα, αυτή η αμοιβή ήταν μια επιδέξια υπολογισμένη απάτη που ενορχηστρώθηκε από τη CIA και τους Βρετανούς για να φανεί ότι οι ΗΠΑ πολεμούσαν την τρομοκρατία, ενώ στην πραγματικότητα την υποστήριζαν εδώ και 14 χρόνια.
